WHAT IS THE AWESOME 80S PROM?

Now in its 6th smash year, THE AWESOME 80S PROM is a blast-from-the-past interactive show in the style of Tony 'n Tina's Wedding set at Wanaget High's Senior Prom . . . in 1989! All your favorite characters from your favorite '80s movies are at THE PROM, from the Captain of the Football Team to the Asian Exchange Student, from the Geek to the hottie Head Cheerleader, and they're all competing for Prom King and Queen. And just like on "American Idol", the audience decides who wins, all while moonwalkin’ to retro hits like "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go!" Come "Back In Time," to quote a Huey Lewis tune, and join the breakdance circle or just sit back and watch the '80s drama unfold. Come on, you know you have a Members Only jacket somewhere . . . and if you're lucky, you'll even get to dance with the Captain of the Football Team. And this time, you don’t have a curfew!

THE AWESOME 80S PROM has productions in New York City, Chicago, Minneapolis & Baltimore and has been featured on NBC’s The Today Show, CBS's The Early Show, Fox 5 News and Fuji Television as well as in print in The New York Times, The NY Daily News, New York Magazine, Playgirl, and many others.

It's perfect for bachelorette parties, birthdays, girls night out, and more!

HOW DO I BUY TICKETS TO THE PROM?

You can buy your tickets 24 hours a day for THE PROM by clicking here or you can call us at 1-877-RAD-PROM!

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BUY MY TICKETS TO THE PROM?

We strongly recommend that you get your tickets to Prom as far in advance as possible. Proms do sell out, and we want to make sure you get your first choice of day and date, especially if you are coming with a large group. It sometimes takes a while for groups of people to make commitments so we recommend you start planning 4-6 weeks in advance if possible. See our group information below for how we can help you with this process.

We even allow one courtesy exchange (service fees may apply), should you book prematurely and have to change the date of your Prom, as long as you book more than 4 weeks in advance.

WHERE/WHAT IS WEBSTER HALL?

Webster Hall is located at 125 East 11th St. between 3rd and 4th Avenues in New York City’s hip lower East Side.

Webster Hall is one of New York’s most famous and largest nightclubs, boasting over 40,000 square feet, 4 floors, and 8 different rooms featuring all different types of music

And with every admission to The Prom, you get FREE admission to Webster Hall after the show so you can party all night long!

WHAT DO I WEAR TO THE PROM?

We encourage everyone to dress 80s! Tease up your hair, dig out your members only jacket, slide on some legwarmers, put on your blue eye shadow, rent a tuxedo, find an old Prom dress (we find that old bridesmaids dresses work great), get your varsity jacket out of storage, but have fun with it!

BEST DRESSED contest held every night! Win prizes for having the most Awesome 80s Outfit!

(If you're looking for a great place to get some 80’s digs, check out Cheap Jacks on 5th Ave. between 31st and 32nd Street in New York City, or any local Ragstock. Also, a lot of great stuff can be found on Ebay.)

If you don’t have any 80s gear, don’t worry. Dressing like Don Johnson in "Miami Vice" is not required. We get a very nice mix of people that do dress 80s and people that don’t, so you won’t feel uncomfortable either way.

But whatever you wear, make sure you dress comfortably, because you’re going to be getting “footloose” all night long!

We also recommend you leave any large bags or items at home or in your car, as coat check is expensive and we don’t recommend leaving anything unattended while you’re at THE PROM.

IS THERE SEATING AT THE PROM?

Attending THE PROM is like attending a high school dance. While there is a stage where several scenes occur (like the crowning of Prom King & Queen!), the majority of the action in THE PROM takes place on the dance floor, by the bar, and even in the bathrooms! However, in addition to the reserved seating that comes with our King/Queen Ticket Package, we also have some scattered cocktail tables throughout THE PROM that are all on a first come first serve basis. There are not enough for everyone, but don’t worry! THE PROM is primarily a non-seated event. You’ll be up on your feet dancing with The Captain of the Football Team before you can say, "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go!"

WHAT WAS THE NAME OF MOLLY RINGWALD’S CHARACTER IN 16 CANDLES?

Samantha.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO COME TO THE PROM?

One thing is for sure, everyone loves the 80s! We’ve had people at THE PROM as young 9 and as old as 79! And let me tell you something . . . that Grandma was doing’ the “jump rope” with the cheerleaders, and the 9 year old was the first person in the break-dance circle! What we tell people is that if you are comfortable with the younger members of your party watching any typical teen movie (The Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, etc.) then you shouldn’t have any problem with the material in the show. The humor in THE PROM is typical high school stuff, filled with silly innuendos, just like all those classic 80s films.

However, please understand that THE PROM does take place at a nightclub. The majority of the audience is in their 20s and 30s, and alcohol is served. While we are a popular Sweet 16 destination, we also host a number of Bachelorette Parties, office parties, etc. It’s an awesome environment and no one feels out of place, no matter what the age, but you know what they say . . . . “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!”

We think you’ll find that your group will love THE PROM no matter what the age, but if you have more specific questions, we recommend that you call us at 1-877-RAD-PROM and we’ll be glad to assist you.

Please note that all audience members under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult (18 or over) in order to attend THE PROM.

WHERE DO I PARK?

Street parking is very difficult to find in New York City. However, there are a number of lots in the area. We recommend NICE parking on 11th Street located between 1st and 2nd Avenues.

HOW LONG IS THE PROM?

The doors open at 7:30 PM and we have a dance contest, we give away prizes, the characters start to arrive, and all sorts of fun stuff happens, so come early! THE PROM officially kicks off at 8:00 PM.

Because of the size of the crowds that come to Prom, we definitely recommend getting there early to check in and check your coat, etc. You don’t want to miss anything!

THE PROM ends at about 9:45, but that’s when the party really gets started. Just as the show ends, the 80s music gets a little louder, the lights get a little darker, and everybody really starts to wang chung!

What did Steve Perry do before he was the lead singer for Journey?

He was a turkey farmer!

HOW MUCH ARE DRINKS AT WEBSTER HALL?

Webster Hall is a New York City nightclub, so drinks can be a bit pricey! Mixed drinks range from between $8 and $12. Beer is approximately $7 to $8 and soft drinks are around $5. There is NO minimum purchase required!

We encourage those who are planning on having a drink or two to purchase our Prince/Princess ticket which include one free drink or our King/Queen ticket which includes 5 free drinks. Both packages are tremendous values.

We also have open soda bar which can be added on for only $14.99.

Please note, absolutely no outside alcoholic beverages are allowed in to Webster Hall. If you are caught with an alcoholic beverage that you have brought in to Webster Hall, you will be asked to leave the Prom. Please be reminded there are no refunds or exchanges.

Also, we understand that many of you may be coming from Pre-Prom parties, dinners, bus trips, etc. We strongly encourage you to not enjoy too many alcoholic beverages prior to coming to The Prom. The management reserves the sole right to refuse admittance to any individuals who may be considered disruptive to the Prom environment. There are no refunds or exchanges. All decisions by Prom management and/or Webster Hall security are final. Please Prom responsibly!

IS THERE FOOD AT THE PROM? CAN YOU RECOMMEND A RESTAURANT CLOSE TO THE PROM?

There is no food at THE PROM. If there were, you wouldn’t have as much time to get footloose! We strongly recommend you have dinner before or after THE PROM.

The Union Square and East Village areas have some of the best restaurants in the city so check them out. We also have relationships with several area restaurants that provide our customers with great deals on dinner packages. Check out their menus here or call us at 1-877-RAD-PROM and we’ll be happy to help you set up your pre-post/prom dinner.

I WANT TO GO TO THE PROM IN STYLE. CAN YOU HELP ME GET A LIMO?

All the popular kids go to THE PROM in limos! You bet we can help. Call us and we’ll set you up with our preferred Prom limo companies. Make sure you reserve well in advance as there are only so many white stretch limos around!

Our favorite limo company is D&G Limousines and you can find out all sorts of information on them by clicking here!

HOW DO I ARRANGE BRINGING A GROUP TO THE PROM?

THE AWESOME 80S PROM is the perfect event for your Birthday Party, Bachelorette Party, Anniversary, Class Reunion, Christmas Party, Back to the Future Fan Club Meeting, and more!

We know organizing a night out for all your friends, families or co-workers can be tough, so we’ve developed plenty of ways to help you through this process!

Yes, we do have group discounts! The bigger the group the bigger the discount, so try and gather as many people together as possible.

But how do you pay?

You can buy the tickets all at once online by clicking here or by calling 1-877-RAD-PROM. You can even pay by check provided we receive the payment more than 7 days before your prom.

And, because you’re a preferred Prom Party Planner, we also have a reservation method that allows you to reserve a minimum number of tickets while allowing each of the members of your party to pay for their own ticket! That’s right, no more laying out cash for bridesmaids or co-workers that you don’t know! We can give your party a unique code that you can email to all of your potential promgoers. By using that code, your guests are credited towards your group! Call us at 1-877-RAD-PROM to reserve your special code today.

Your guests can also chose whatever ticket package they want. There is no need for everyone to purchase one type of ticket. Get the Bachelorette the King/Queen ticket! Get the Mother of the Bride the Prince/Princess. Get the Flower Girl the Prom Committee ticket and add an open soda bar! It’s totally up to you.

The most important information we need to help you plan your Prom is the date you’d like to attend and how many people you expect to have (this number does not need to be exact when making your initial reservation).

To get this information, we recommend emailing all of your friends with information about The Prom by sending them the “invitation email” we have prepared for you below. Just copy and paste it and send it to all your friends with your specific information! Then give us a call with the results and we’ll make sure the rest of the process is totally easy.
