KATHERINE BANKS  (KERRIE KOWALSKI, THE SPAZ) ) didn’t have to dig very deep to get in touch with her inner spaz. Favorite roles include Luciana, The Comedy of Errors (Oak Park Festival Theater), Iris, Still Life with Iris (Vittum Theater) and Fan, A Christmas Carol (Provision Theater). Katherine is a proud graduate of the University of Michigan.

 


BRAD DAVIDSON (MR. "DICK" SNELGROVE, THE PRINCIPAL) most recently appeared in the title role in Fred Blue at Bailiwick Theatre Repertory's Directors Festival and as The Doctor in A Streetcar Named Desire at Metropolis Performing Arts Center. Other recent performances include Norm Petty in The Buddy Holly Story at Oak Park Village Theatre; Alex, Henry, and Tom in Point of Contention Theatre's Trunk; Commuter in The Octopus Story in Collaboraction Theatre's Sketchbook 6; Billy in California Suite at Theatre in the Woods's ; the Narrator, Mr. Scott, and Grandpa in Theatre Hike's Little House on the Prairie; Juror No. 12 in Alchemy Theatre's production of Twelve Angry Men; and Orsino in the Elk Grove Center for the Performing Arts production of Twelfth Night. Recent film credits include Actually, Adieu My Love; Wages of Sin, Devil's Dominoes, and The Moe Berg Story. He has an M.A. in theatre from Purdue University and has taught acting at Purdue, at the University of Illinois, and in the continuing education program of High School District 211.

 


SETH DAVIS (LOUIS FENCETERSPOCK, THE NERD) has studied with (Chicago) The Second City, Improv Olympics, Annoyance Theater, and "Double Dare" host, Marc Summers. Credits: (Improv Olympic) "Ned Beatty" (Donny's Skybox Theater 2nd City), "Panty Filers," "Jazz Hands Across America," and currently "=E Produces Four Chairs." Seth is psyched to be apart of the class of '89! Go Beavers!

 


NOAH DURHAM  (LLOYD PARKER, THE PHOTOGRAPHER) Noah went to boarding school and had no prom. Instead, it was MORP -- where most everyone arrived and left sober and in a yellow school bus. He is thrilled to be attending his first real prom. Noah was most recently seen in Chicago dressed head to toe in pink as Wilbur in Charlotte’s Web with Emerald City Theater Company, and as a boob-popping Thisby in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the New American Theater. JEFFREY FAHEY  (DICKIE HARRINGTON, THE DRAMA QUEEN) is excited to be a part of The Awesome 80s Prom! He earned his degree in Musical Theatre from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where he performed in such shows as The Threepenny Opera, Kiss Me Kate, and The Laramie Project. Other acting credits include performing with Light Opera Works, American Girl Place Theater, Bailiwick Repertory, and Music by the Lake in Wisconsin. When he is not acting, Jeffrey is an elementary and junior high music teacher which he loves just as much as theatre. He sends many thanks to the never ending support of his totally tubular family in Minnesota!

 

AMY GALVIN (MOLLY PARKER, THE FRESHMAN) ) thinks it's like so rad to be a part of The Awesome 80s Prom! A Chicago native, Amy graduated from Indiana University with a B.A. in journalism. Amy has studied with The Second City. Stage credits include: There's No "I" in Improv, The United Flakes of America and Basically Awesome at Second City's Donny's Skybox Theater, Moon Over Buffalo with Theatre D. You can also catch Amy in an episode of Dinner Date on the Fine Living Network. She would like to thank Ken for this awesome opportunity, as well as her family, Aaron, Oliver and Pearl.

 

ADAM KALESPERIS  (NICK FENDER, THE BAD BOY) is thrilled to have the opportunity to harass you as Nick Fender, since you'd rarely catch him being so mean in real life. He is a recent graduate of the UCLA Theater Department, where he studied acting and playwriting. While in Los Angeles, he starred in several short independent films and appeared on such popular television shows as Gilmore Girls and Once and Again. Since his return to Chicago, Adam has kept busy with commercials and other film work, in addition to theater. Favorite roles include John Proctor in The Crucible, Coulmier in Marat/Sade and Lewis in Pippin.

ASHLEY LOBO  (WHITLEY WHITIKER, HEAD-CHEERLEADER, Company DANCE CAPTAIN) is ecstatic to make her Awesome 80s Prom debut in her home town of Chicago! She is a journalism graduate from Arizona State University who is often seen reporting for the offbeat news magazine show, "Nude Hippo" on NBC5.com. Ashley has studied at Second City, Act One Studios, The Green Room, and the Actors Studio. Ashley is a former competitive USFSA figure skater, current dancer, and a proud SAG member. You may or may not vote for her as your Awesome 80's Prom Queen, but she will always reign as our 2004 Fiesta Bowl Queen! She would like to thank KDavs for this opportunity and her family, friends and prom cast for their support!

 

MEG MASSARI  (MRS. PATTY LASCALSZO, THE DRAMA TEACHER) is an alum of two Second City Training Center ensembles “Not if You Were the Last 10 Guys on Earth”, and “tonDef”, the latter appearing in Chicago Sketch Fest. It’s only until The Prom has she fully understood the meaning of AWESOME. Meg has trained at Second City and has appeared in various musicals at the Beverly Art Center. Meg thanks Jean who encouraged her to go to PROM and is especially grateful to Anthony for picking Mt. Carmel.


STEPHANIE NIGHTLINGER (INGA SWANSON, THE SWEDISH EXCHANGE STUDENT) is ecstatic to make her Chicago debut in The Awesome 80s Prom! She hails from Richmond, VA, where she danced and performed since she was a little tike with L.A. Gears and layered socks. Stephanie developed a love for interactive theatre in her most recent role, popping too many pills as Loretta Black in Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding. Also involved in TV and film, her projects include Evan Almighty, Commander-In-Chief and The Dark Knight. She is a totally proud graduate of James Madison University, where she studied communications and theatre and rocked out on the hip hop dance team. Stephanie thanks Ken for encouraging her to “extend her leg,” and her family, friends and Paul for all of their love and support.

 

BEN OSBUN  (MICHAEL JAY – CLASS PRESIDENT) is exited to be a part of Prom. The Alabama native and Loyola Chicago graduate went to Prom three times – alas no coronations. He has appeared with a number of Chicago theatre companies including: Apple Tree, Healthworks, Infamous Commonwealth, Around the Coyote, and Emerald City. Thanks to the family and Sarah, - hope you get lucky at the prom.

 

ANN PHILIPPON  (HEATHER WELLINGTON, CHEERLEADER) is very excited about performing in the Awesome 80s Prom! She started as an XFL Chicago Enforcers Cheerleader and has now moved on to dancing for the Chicago Rush Arena Football team for the past 5 years. Ann would like to thank her husband, friends, and family for all of their love and support as she continues to pursue her dream in the entertainment business.


RAMSAY SAUNDERS (MELISSA "MISSY" MARTIN, HEAD OF THE PROM COMMITTEE) Chicago debut; Off-Broadway credits: Psycho Beach Party. A graduate of Trinity College, she has appeared in several national ads including Target, Farmer's Insurance, and Lifetouch. Thanks to her parents for letting her get a perm in 3rd grade, and her husband for making her feel like a Prom Queen every day. Heartfelt thanks to Ken for this extraordinary experience.


STEVE SCALABRINO  (DJ JOHNNY HUGHES) is super psyched to be a part of the prom! He is a recent graduate from Illinois State University with a degree in Theatre Education and Acting as well as a minor in English Language arts. He has enjoyed such roles as Septimus Hodge in Arcadia, Danny in Danny and The Deep Blue Sea, Duke Fredrick in As You Like It, as well as Mr. Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors. His S.A.F.D. stage combat training in four weapons have made his hips nice and limber for the pelvic responsibilities of this show.

 

ANGELA SPRINKLE  (LUCY RAIZIN, PROM COMMITTEE) is ready to tease her hair, put on some leggings and, like, have some fun as she makes her debut in Chicago in The Awesome 80s Prom. Angela, originally from a tiny town in southern Indiana, was born and raised in the 80s. She graduated from Indiana State University in May with a B.S. in public relations, but her true passion is being on the stage. She is thankful and excited for this great opportunity and appreciates all the support from her family, friends and cast.

 

BRIAN VOGLER  (JOSHUA “BEEF” BEEFOROWSKI, FOOTBALL PLAYER) was born and raised on a ranch in the middle of nowhere, commonly known as the great plains of western Nebraska. He did not excel at driving John Deere tractors or herds of cattle, but found a dysfunctional home in the comedy community of Chicago. He perfected his dance moves for two seasons as member of the Chicago Bulls all-male dance team, the Matadors. Special thanks to Richter Farms and Drive Train for their support.


ATTILA WENINGER (BLAKE WILLIAMS, CAPTAIN OF THE FOOTBALL TEAM) is very excited to be a part of The Prom! Theatrical roles include Caliban in The Tempest, Valene in The Lonesome West, Picasso in Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Walker/Ned in Three Days of Rain and MacDuff in Macbeth. He sends love to Anne for her beauty, patience, and encouragement.

 





KEN DAVENPORT (AUTHOR/DIRECTOR) KEN DAVENPORT (AUTHOR/DIRECTOR) once wore red suede pumas, a black leather tie and used to breakdance on official "Beat Street" cardboard purchased at KB Toy & Hobby. He survived the '80s and went on to graduate from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. After a quick career as an actor, which included a performance in Forever Plaid for the former President Bush, Ken segued into a career on the other side of the table with staff positions on the Broadway revivals of My Fair Lady with Richard Chamberlain and Grease with Rosie O'Donnell. After company managing a National Tour of A Grand Night for Singing, Ken began a three-year relationship with LIVENT, during which time he worked on the Tony Award-winning Broadway productions of Showboat, Candide, Ragtime and the workshop of Parade. Since then, Ken has had the distinct pleasure of Company Managing and/or General Managing Gypsy (starring Bernadette Peters) and Thoroughly Modern Millie, as well as the road companies of Jekyll & Hyde, Chicago (National Tour and Las Vegas) and Cinderella starring Eartha Kitt, Deborah Gibson and Jamie Lynn DiScala. Ken was the Director of Creative Development for NETworks and has also produced and directed several workshops, readings and regional productions, including several companies of Forever Plaid, a reading of Is There Life After High School? and an original musical that he wrote, entitled Prime Time. In addition to The Awesome 80s Prom, which is currently in its second smash year Off-Broadway in New York City as well as in Chicago and Minneapolis (and having a limited engagement in Baltimore). Ken is also producing Altar Boyz, the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award Winner for Best Musical, which is in its third year Off-Broadway. Altar Boyz has also been seen in a National Tour around the U.S. as well as in Korea and Hungary.  Productions are planned for Japan, Brazil, Sweden, Finland, Australia with more to follow.  (www.altarboyz.com)  Ken is also developing a Broadway musical adapted from the classic film, Somewhere In Time, as well as a documentary style theater piece in the tradition of The Vagina Monologues called My First Time: True Stories of Love and Sex Submitted Online By People Just Like You (www.myfirsttimelive.com).  For more information visit www.davenporttheatrical.com.

DREW GERACI (CHOREOGRAPHER) Among his regional credits are Nunsense, Crazy For You, Smokey Joe's Cafe and Forever Plaid (Chicago and Toronto companies were award-winning). In NY he has been involved for years with B'way Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and their annual Easter Bonnet and Gypsy of the Year Competitions (his own creations received 3 separate awards). He's also directed showcases such as Joseph and Napoleon for Gayfest '04 and most recently Believe in Me: A Bigfoot Musical for the 2004 Fringe Festival. He and Mr. Davenport have collaborated in the past on showcases of PrimeTime and The Altar Boyz. He also has a screenplay in the works and is a professional and published photographer.

RANDALL E. KLEIN (COSTUME DESIGNER) NYC credits include: Off Broadway's The Awesome 80s Prom (along with the Minneapolis and Baltimore productions), Beowulf at Irish Repertory Theatre, The Journey (the ballet) at Lincoln Center, City of Dreams at Midtown International Theatre Festival, and Velocity for Guggenheim's Work & Process series and the Edinburgh Theatre Festival, in Scotland. Regional credits include: Tim Rice & Elton John's Aida at North Shore Music Theatre (IRNE Award nomination), as well as various productions at Syracuse Stage, Actor's Theatre of Louisville, Studio Arena Theatre, in Buffalo, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Geva Theatre in Rochester, NY, and Paper Mill Playhouse in NJ.

RACHEL ROGERS (STAGE MANAGER) is totally psyched to be a part of Prom! Originally from Frankfort, Ky, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Southern Mississippi. This is Rachel's first show in Chicago; she was last seen touring the Southwest with Creede Repertory Theatre. She would like to thank her friends and family for their tireless support, and the cast and crew of Prom for being totally awesome!

JESSICA WEST REGAN (ASSISTANT CHOREOGRAPHER) is currently performing in The Awesome 80s Prom Off-Broadway and was a part of the original cast that helped create the show. A recent graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Jessica is an experienced professional Britney Spears impersonator, as well as an award- winning competitive dance all throughout North America. Jessica would like to thank her family and friends for all their love and support.

SPENCER ROBINSON (PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR) a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a BS in mathematics and former Naval Officer, Spencer took the next logical step and moved to New York to pursue acting. A proud member of the prom committee since the initial run at Webster Hall, Spencer is the production supervisor for both the Minneapolis and Baltimore productions. Spencer would like to thank Kathie for the countless saves and Ken for the fun, opportunity and the computer on which he wrote this bio. And of course thanks Mom, Dad, Jenni, Dennis and Tyrone.

HEATHER STUCK (ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGER) is like a real 80’s born Heather at the prom is excited to be part of this great cast and crew. Originally from Springfield IL, makes her Chicago professional debut in the Prom. She received her BA in Musical Theatre from Columbia College Chicago. Recent stage managing credits include “The Etymology of Bird”, “Ghost” and acting credits as Jacob in “Golem”. Heather wants to thank her family and friends and remind them “Don’t stop believing”.

JESSIE WAYBURN (LIGHT BOARD OPERATOR) has her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of Charleston, in South Carolina. Her professional credits in Charleston include production work for the Spoleto Festival USA and stage management for PURE Theatre on their production of Beauty Queen of Leenane. Her professional credits in Chicago assistant stage management for The Grounded Theatre with their production of Luv. The Awesome 80s Prom is Jessie's first professional lighting job in Chicago, so she's stoked about that!

THE CLASS OF '89 (CO-AUTHOR) is a group of performers including Sheila Berezan, Alex Back, Adam Bloom, Anne Bobby, Courtney Balan, Nicole Cicchella, Mary Faber, Stephen Guarino, Jeff Hiller, Emily McNamara, Troy Metcalf, Jenna Pace, Amanda Ryan Paige, Brian Peterson, Jessica West Regan, Kathy Searle, Mark Shunock, Josh Walden, Noah Weisberg, Brandon Williams, Simon Wong and Fletcher Young who assisted in the development of The Awesome 80s Prom by participating in its original workshops.
